Seat info

Does anyone know if the factory buddy buckets are the same seats as the factory bucket seats can you use factory bucket seat brackets and a factory console or are you stuck with the buddy buckets . I have three short bed trucks a 69,70,and a 71 I plan on restoring all three one has no seat at all local savage yard has set of factory buddy buckets with fold down center with a padded console to sit on that lifts up with storage underneath that needs recovering for $35 there is one just like it on this site for $695 that needs recovering are those seats really worth that much and am I stupid for already not purchasing the one for $35

Re: Seat info

Welcome to the board! To answer your question, no they are not the same. Buddy buckets are like a bench seat. You couldn't use a stock or similar console with buddy buckets either.

Re: Seat info

Buy them either way. An outside company made these seats, they are the same whether used in a Chevy or a Dodge, the only difference is the frame.

Re: Seat info

The buddys are on a frame and mount like a bench and no your not stupid but it would be prudent to go buy them and yes they are bringing the 695 that you saw the set for sale for. I traded for a 68 truck a couple of years ago that has the buddy buckets and at the time I thought about selling them but they are so cool and seldom seen, they were up in the 1200 to 1500 dollar mark before the economy took a dump. Re: Seat info

If it is a complete 68 CST there are a lot more parts worth picking up at junkyard prices...do your homework here and make a list...

Re: Seat info

Stop whatever you are doing right now and go buy the buddy bucket seats before the sun goes down TODAY. You will be glad you did.
