Cadillac horns?

So I was talking with my dad and he thinks he has a set of 3 (low, mid, and high) horns from a Cadillac in his garage somewhere.

Would those be cool on a 1972 truck?

Re: Cadillac horns?

I have some Cadillac horns in my truck from a late model Cadillac. Got them from the junkyard. I like the way they sound. I just have a low and hi though. Didn't know they had 3

Re: Cadillac horns?

I've heard of the Cadillac triples (no pun intended). I think they'd be a great choice!

YES..!!!!! Do not wait any longer, go do it now.!! I had a set in a 72 I once owned. Wish I would have kept the horns when I sold it.

Re: Cadillac horns?

Thanks guys. My dad's garage is pretty loaded up, movement is difficult. Hopefully he can find those by next summer when I get back on the truck in earnest.

I will definately take your advice. :-)

Re: Cadillac horns?

I have 4 Cadillac horns in my 72. I think they came out of a late 80's model. All 4 are different tones and they are awesome! Do it.

Re: Cadillac horns?

My horns are both fried. Now you all got me thinking about finding these as replacements.

fried or just have not been worked on and brought back to life??

old school hot rodders look for 6volt trumpets from buicks caddilacs and other luxo boats from the 40's and 50's and they end up with the loudest horns in the neighborhood

Re: Cadillac horns?

I'm not sure what could be done to fix. I figured the inners were dried and busted. We hooked one up and it went 'hoooonnnnkkssssss, poof no more sound". Real faint. The other never responded.

Re: Cadillac horns?

Spray WD40 inside the horns, let 'em sit overnight and give 'em a try the next day. Cheap fix if it works.

Re: Cadillac horns?

This is pretty much what I put in my 72. These are going pretty cheap.

Re: Cadillac horns?

I had the Cadillac horns on a 71 I used to have. Ended up having to rewire them so the relay drew its power straight from the battery, they sounded good but weren't very loud until I rewired them
