The only plug that I know of that looks like goes to my orange marker lights in the bumper of my '72. The rear harness plug going to the back of the truck has four recepticles not the two shown.

Maybe the electric kickdown for a TH400? I have been all through the engine wiring on my truck and haven't seen a connector like that.......

I was thinkin the neutral saftey switch, but why would it be all the way under the truck by the motor?

I thought the nutural safety and backup light were controled by the switch on the steering colume. The plug was hanging down by the tranny when I took the picture, but it may plug in most anywhere at the forward part of the truck. One wire is a medium shade of green the other is lighter green.

why couldn't this be the marker light plug for the front - i.e. lights in the grill or bumber? Are your lights already hooked up? Are your lights running off a splice from the side markers? This plug may have been tied up down there to get it out of the way.
I went and looked at my plugs for the front lights and it is identical. |

This is a 67 so I don't have marker lights. The problem is I built this truck from many parts from 67 to 72. I installed the steering colume nutural safety switch but I have no wires connected to it yet. I have no brake light switch at this time. I have a 69 brake switch in the shop but it does not accept a plug in like this one. Could it be for a 67 brake light switch?

I would say the trans as my 72 4x4 was a 4 speed from the factory and now has an auto, I have the same plug taped up on my firewall unplugged also.

Just put new wiring on mine Saturday. The light green/ dark green plug goes to the back-up switch on the top left front of the 4 spd. grandma trans.

It plugs into the 4spd back up light switch.

Plug
I also believe that it goes to the back-up light switch on a 4 spd tranny. I also changed mine from a 4 spd to an auto and have the same plug taped up under the truck.
