New Member from Texas
Hello everyone,
Ive been reading a lot on the site and decided I found a really good place to join. Im not new to trucks, just the site. I spent most of the last 10 years in Memphis, Tn. building race cars, fast street cars, and a few show cars. Unfortunately, I got burned out on the whole scene and walked away from it all. I moved to Houston, Tx where I still live. So after a year and a half the "itch" came back as strong as ever. Ive had a few 67-72 trucks and a 69 suburban over the years, and multiple trucks in the 81-87 era. So I knew I wanted another C series truck. Solid trucks are hard to find in the Houston area. I was very surprised by this. I recently purchased a 1970 K10 step side. It was a surprisingly relatively rust free truck that spent its life near the salt water of the gulf. After looking at a lot of trucks that were rusted beyond what I was prepared to deal with, I finally found one. The PO was a teen who had started "fixing it up". Once I figure out the image thing, I will post a few pics. |

Re: New Member from Texas
Thanks.
I feel pretty fortunate to have found a good solid truck to start with. Here is a couple more shots of it. |

Re: New Member from Texas
Thanks.
It looks a lot different now. The first week it was home was spent taking it all down in preparation for new paint. You cant see it in the pics, but the stripes were done with a lot of large metalflake. Not really my style. |

Re: New Member from Texas
I chose to go with a semi gloss tan. I call it desert tan. Its close to the same color used on military equipment deployed in the middle east.
PPG called it "grey beige". |
