Step one of a steam conversion started during the '70s gas crunch:
"Put wood into engine compartment for burning."

A gigantic fluke:
The guy that will be fixing my deer damage spotted this among 200+ junk vehicles. I am replacing my roof to correct "flaws" the previous owner caused.
Going to bring home the roof today.
The roof is good and maybe the doors, but the rest is junk.

That should take care of yours pretty well. Is he going to have it stripped or blasted before he puts it on?

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Dropped it off at the shop and their consensus was it is tree-crud and a power washer would clean it enough to work with.
Interior was very clean.
They won't start my repairs until after Christmas holidays.
