Early Classics 4/6 Drop Kit Instructions? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Looking for a copy of the instructions. Trying to get an idea on what a shop is gonna charge me to install this kit. They want to know what is involved therefore I need the instructions. I called ECE and they won't send them to me. Or if you purchased a kit from them then you may be able to get another copy of the instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is holding me up.

Having installed ECE's 4/6 drop, super track bar kit, and lowered front sway bar kit, I can tell you that the ECE installation instructions leave a lot to be desired. If you really want to see good instructions with pictures as well, go to their website, www.earlyclassic.com and click on the 68 Rodstoration project. It shows in much greater detail how everything is installed on the front and rear ends.

I find it hard to believe that Dave over at Early Classic wouldnt help ya out, hes always been more than helpful with me. The 4/6 kit is very straight forward and fairly simple to install, most shops should be able to install it in a matter of hours. I stripped my 71 down to the frame but when we started re-assembling ours it only took me and my dad a few hours to throw it together. I have to agree with SuperChevy though, the instructions were Very vague, Just my 2 cents....

OldSkool71, I'm sorry I can't help you out. I dug around in boxes and looked in the "normal" places last night and was unable to locate the instructions. I am sure your shop can easily figure it out. All they will need is the torque settings for the bolts. I don't even think I used the instructions when I did mine. Sorry I couldn't help you out better.

1971Stepside thanks appreciate the effort. Number98 I had talk to Dave over there at ECE before and he is very helpful and knows his stuff no doubt. But when I had call back and talk to others there requesting the info I was denied and refered to the website articles. Im just trying to find someone around my area to do the job and give me a price but they won't without some more info. I don't want people to get me wrong. Im not bashing ECE Im just trying to get the info I need. Thanks.

I understand man. I have had similar experience with the other guys at ECE, they acted like they didnt have time to deal with my questions. Thats why I wont talk to any of them but Dave when ever I call over there. I did however look through my stuff but couldnt find any of the left over instructions from when we did mine.... Probably got chunked.

superchevy did you have to c-notch your truck? If not did you have to make any modifications to the bumpstops? Trying to get a better idea on what I am looking to get myself into.
