shoulder belt in 66
Can shoulder belts be put in a 66 chevy truck correctly meaning they would work in a crash? Mine does not have any holes where the shoulder belt would mount. I was thinking about drilling a hole and using a bolt and large washer but not sure. What to you guys think?

I don't think the shoulder belt would work just bolting it to the sheet metal. It could pull out with the force of an accident without reinforcing in some way.

What I am wanting to know is can I safely put shoulder belts in my 66?. It has no holes for them now. I know where to buy new seat belts but can this be done safely?. thanks for the replies.

Yes you can. For example, the Juliano's shoulder belts come with a shouldered attachment bolt and a nut that is welded to a 4 inch long piece of steel flat stock which is meant to go behind and serve as reinforcement for the sheet metal cab wall.

For the reinforcement plates, check out what Brad did on his truck:

Thanks guys THAT is what I was looking for. I am thinking about making my 66 a driver and letting my son drive it to school next year but wanted a good 3 point seat belt. It looks like what brad did will work and be safe.
