Looking for 1970 Clutch Boot

I'm hunting all the usual vendors for a new clutch rod boot (at the firewall, not the bellhousing) for my '70. I found them for up to '66's but nothing newer. Anybody got a source? Mine's pretty much shot.

Try posting this on the parts board with a wtb title. You might get more exposure there. Let me know if you find one, so I know not to keep an eye out at the yard

Thanks AJ. I wanted a new one- with them being rubber, a used one might not be in much better shape than mine.

Re: Looking for 1970 Clutch Boot

These all look like the 60-66 one I've found and f*ck me running- the shipping on a $10 part is $17-20 from these guys....

I might just add the 60-66 one to my order at the Truck Shop and take my chances.

You should call Wes at Classic Heartbeat, that's where I bought mine. He has a lot of other hard to find rubber parts as well.

Brothers has the part for $10. When the web site calculates crazy shipping, I call and see what they can do for me, and they usually will knock some off. Especially for something that small, it really shouldn't cost much

I think one place showed them as 60-72.

Buying small parts like that sucks. Te shipping isn't bad when you buy a bunch of stuff, but on one small part they rape you.

He had the highest shipping at nearly $20..... I added it to my Truck Shop order yesterday- I've not tried them before but they seem to have a lot of little detail stuff that the other guys don't have. I placed an order for about a dozen parts for around $100 total. (They have a 10% deal right now until the end of the month too which was a nice bonus).

thanks

I've tried to get a brother's catalog twice to no avail. I got a big sales flyer once which had some nice stuff. Their website is not easy to navigate when you just want to shop parts- I tried and gave up. I need so much stuff right now I was flipping through all my catalogs while watching the Panthers put the hurt on the Dolphins in the second half (ha!) just trying to pick out stuff I "need."

This is what I have coming from the Truck Shop, its a real random hodgepodge but I have so much of the truck apart it makes sense over here. (except for the key blank- I only have one key for the truck so I need to get another one cut!, I've been meaning to order one for a while now so I threw it in)

(67-04703) 67-72 Key Blanks Ignition
(60-12411) 60-67 Oil filler tube & cap - Tube
(60-129101) 60-72 Bellcrank felt gasket seals
(60-13004) 60-72 Clutch fork boot
(60-13216) 60-72 Spark plug heat shield - Small block V8, 4 pcs.
(63-13405) 63-72 Voltage regulator mounting kit - 6 pcs.
(63-13501) 63-72 Alternator wire boot
(67-13906) 67-72 Wire gutters under hood
(67-10301) 67-72 Radiator mounting pads, without AC, with 3 core standard radiator, 4 pcs.
(60-10602) 60-72 Water pump mounting bolt kit, Small block, V8
(60-13003) 60-66 Clutch Rod Rubber Boot (the part I was looking for)

I'm going to Classic Muscle this morning and depending on what they have in stock, may be leaving with $500 in parts... Rad support, inner fenders, balancer and a bunch of small parts. I found another bunch of stuff I "need" at Summit Racing. Have to get a clutch while its all apart.

On the bright side, I came up with a couple really cool ideas that will really make this truck look cool under the hood when its back together. Nothing groundbreaking but what I think are some really nice touches that will be different from the rest at cruise night while still looking factory (beyond the 60's intake and valve covers).

Yep, I HAD to take it apart. Just couldn't leave it alone.

I had that same problem with Brothers and their catalog. You'd think if anything would work, it would be their ability to send you a catalog. I eventually had to call them to have them send it. Of I curse I also got one in person when I was at their store.

Re: Looking for 1970 Clutch Boot

I had to call Brothers just now to check on a credit they were supposed to give me when I sent something back. While they were on the line, I complained about the catalog situation, and had the guy physically mail one to you (I had your address from that gas pedal I sent you). Interestingly, they had your info in their system already, but it just didn't send the catalog.

thanks AJ! They better hurry getting it here- I'm still in a spending mood!
