MPG comparison...How's yours?
I have a '62 C10 longbed, 327 mated to a TH350 auto, and 3.08 diff, and I'm averaging 8.5MPG with a light foot. How's your MPG with your setup?

Re: MPG comparison...How's yours?
Still have to get the speedo / odo working in the 65. The 350 world heads, cam ,edlebrock manifold and 600cfm seems to be about 12 if I had to guess. Running 4:10s and 700r4.
The 50 burb with a built 250, 390 Holley, 700r4 , 3:73s and a 29" tire gets 19 mpg |

Re: MPG comparison...How's yours?
I was getting about 14MPG with my C-30 (9' stepside one ton) the last time I checked. Wore slap out 195HP 2bbl 283, SM420 four speed, 4.10 gears, and 32" mud tires on the back.
The "double pumper" feature is only relevant when you are opening the secondary circuit, so I really doubt that's hurting you. (Unless you have a light foot and a non-existent throttle return spring, lol.) The overall tuning may be a good bit off, though. I also don't know just how much the auto-majik TH350 hurts mileage as opposed to a manual trans or late model auto. |

Re: MPG comparison...How's yours?
My '66 Suburban with a mild 454, TH400, 3.42 gears and a 28" tire was getting about 11 mpg. Didn't seem to make much difference how I drove it.

Re: MPG comparison...How's yours?
I honestly think mpg is so low because of aerodynamics. I live in Kansas where its always windy and it seems both cross winds and head wins really set you back.
I have a 383/th350/9" with 3.56? Or something close to that. I doubt I get 10mpg but I really haven't st down and figured it out. Runs strong tho and hooking up vacuum advance and tunning with a vacuum gauge helped. Oh and I'm running bias ply m50s from Mt. And world heads with a 770 street avenger and Edelbrock performer rpm.
