A/C heater dash pad vents
Anyone have a good solution for the loose vents on the dash pad,(the vents wont stay in place and must point down? I am) going to do some work on the dash and want to fix the problem while I have it apart. Any one has any ideas that have worked?

Yea I would like to find a more permanent fix if possible, instead of springing for new ones.

not sure if a heat gun would work?
i've heated some dash plastics to prevent "brittle" splits slight pressure hold tab out ,till softened or maybe heat from soldering gun,not sure if a lighter would be enough let cool and check?

There is actually a little pad of sticky foam that adds pressure to the sides I believe. I did my 87 camaro with a bit of sticky foam weatherstripping trimmed down. Works very well. Next time I pull my dash pad I will do these as well.

I thought it was more of a sticky-backed felt or dense fabric that was on them originally. If you've got it apart, now is a perfect time to experiment with different materials.

I used the fuzzy side of a piece of black velcro..Creates just the right amount of friction to keep them right where you want them...
