This was interesting...

Was at my local wrecking yard and I wandered out back to the GMC 5/6/7000 that was in the back. Really really complete, single axle, light boom on flatbed, small block, 4 or 5 speed... Talked to the owner (wrecking yard) and he said it ran and drove fine, had been trying to sell it whole but I could go ahead and pull parts off it. Looky what I got!

Here is the interesting part, the tach harness. I am used to the pickup ones where the tach feed passes through firewall and connect to HEI dist. This one connected to fuse block, ground bus, and the tach feed into the main under dash harness with this blue plug.

Re: This was interesting...

Second one I've had. It's the OTHER GMC there that I'm dying to dig into. It is an '88 or so TopKick with CAT power. It has the 81+ style cluster with dual needle air pressure gauge and tach + fuel combo. *drools* Owner said he wants to put his rollback deck on that chassis though.
