Are you looking for your grandfathers truck, or looking to recreate that truck? I let my very first 70 model C-10 go after 18 years, and after 20 some years I am now recreating that truck. It doesnt have the same personality, but it will look almost the same.

I'm kinda looking for it, I don't have much hope left...miss the old girl. Know all about the truck but what gears? What where common gear for these? It wasn't very low, topped out around 97 mph... But still could take off 2nd gear real easy.. Take off from 5 mph in 4th gear...

What exactly are you asking?
Trying to find a specific truck after twenty or so years can be very difficult. If you have the VIN you might be able to find it. Best guess is its has a lot more rust than anything else if it is still around at all. If you are trolling for a "for sale" truck you need to be a member and post a proper "want to buy" thread. As to a 6cyl C20 doing 97mph, really?!!!!

With 4.11 gears all you'd need to turn is around 4700 RPM in 4th .... Down hill with a tailwind??? I don't think it'd have the horsepower on flat road with our truck's frontal areas.
Stranger things have happened.

I didn't get the "schrum" either but didn't think it important enough to ask.
Highly unlikely at best, to find that truck. Do yourself a favor, and get one like it. If I lost my truck, I'd get another like it. Preferably lwb this time and 4 in floor, 327. |

Re: Lost 68 c20...sold 21ish years ago. Upstate ny.
I was able to get my 69 swb 4x4 back after about 11 years. Of course the guy I sold it to still had it and was willing to let it go back to me because he knew what I had planned for it and his time with it was kinda done. Helps also that we live close by. Good luck to you on finding what your looking for. Its going to be really hard if you can't come up with some names, places and maybe even a vin. Not a unique enough description given really either. Not trying to be critical, I'm just saying... Anyhow, best of luck I hope your able to find it!

I'm not trolling for a for sale truck, just reaching out to see if anyone may know the whereabouts of it. I know she's probably real rusty but I can deal with that. And yes...97 mph. He wanted to see what it would do.

That is swell Mister-B, NC John Thanks.I'm important enough to run across your minds, means a lot.Although I almost forgot who y'all were
Hey man, I'm going through the same thing in a way.I bought my Grandfathers '59, but I wish I could find his '71 Gmc Sierra..These guys give me hell about it because I obsess over it If you have the VIN Number, and know someone with Access you can find out exactly where its at.Good luck man, You can go to the Tax Office and get a Tax paper on the last time it was paid(TAX), at least that is what I did and after months of looking I obtained the VIN and now just patiently waiting for it to be put back in the New owners name.Good luck man, I know exactly how you feel, best wishes you to. Let us know if you find it !!!
