Newbie from Alabama

Hey everybody... I'm looking forward to discovering the wealth of information, tips and expertise among this group. I'm not a mechanic (not even a shade tree mechanic), but I own a 1969 C10 Side Step that has set idle for over 10 years, and the time has come for me to rebuild or sell it. It needs a lot of body work, and not sure about the drive train yet. But hope I can lean on the expertise and wisdom among this group to help guide me along my journey. Maybe I'll even get a chance to help someone along their journey as well. As Dr. Frazier Krane (tv show Frazier) .... "I'm Listening"

Re: Newbie from Alabama

Here are some more current photos as of today (November 29, 2013). I started my project in mid September. Had to replace tires, removed gas tank (tank had holes and a lot of old gas), replaced fuel pump, installed temp gas tank and temporary fuel line, cleaned carb, new plugs and accessories, cleaned points, shade tree tune-up (carb & distributor adjustment), power washed. It cranks now, can move it around the yard, but no brakes. Next step is try bleeding the brakes, change the oil.... THEN the real work will get started.
