New guy with new '67 project

Hi guys I'm new here and just bought the next project on my list , I found this 1967 on craigslist in Kentucky , It's a roller that had a 6 and 3 speed 6 lug and it came with another cab/ doors/ fenders and finished frame with discs and bagged no bed all for $1,250.00, So if anyone has a short wide bed thats repairable I'm a buyer ! and looking . I also found a running 292 6cyl on craigslist for $200.00 That came out of a dump truck specs unknown other than it runs good they put a big block in it's place . so the saga begins on these 2 trucks. Wish me well !

welcome to the forum,,,

i would think a 6 motor from a dump truck has had a hard life. small block from a junkyard might be less headache's....

I've seen a few really nice 292's pulling 325 + hp and I like the look of the triple duce carbs, I have planned this build for 20 + years . I've built small blocks before but this time I'm going for the 6 and a few secrets to leave the small blocks sitting at the line wondering "what the H**L happened" ? I already have my paint (Sunburst orange metallic with fade up to Tangerine metallic base coat clear coat ) I've been painting and building custom interiors for 35 years and we've had some pretty nice toys over the years but this one I'm building for myself with no holds barred yet I totally plan on driving it . The 292 I found had a few things going for it

1 it survived it's dump truck life
2 it's complete and running
3 it's close by
4 it was cheap

These past weeks I've been offered some decent trucks and lord willing I'll try my best to get them all and hide them from my girl (What she doesn't see won't hurt me ) Once I figuire out how to load pictures the adventure will begin wish me luck !

Re: New guy with new '67 project

1967----------------------Well after some of my fantastic computer skills I've almost learned how to post on this site , Here are the found in a field pictures . The '67 small window came with extra doors and fenders .

the story I am told is the truck was a restoration project for a soldier in Afganistan who was killed in action and his family sold the truck to the man I bought it from , if the story holds true and I can find out who he was there will be some sort of memorial to him on the truck for his heroic service when the truck is done and I will find his family and let them know it got finished and has his name on it .

This is the 292 dump truck engine found for $200.00 and a picture of a 292 with the offenhauser intake witch gave me the idea to build a 325+hp 6 cylinder
