Guys i was looking at the headlight relay set up,
who has one and are they good? and do you still have to use your original dimmer switch

I have one, totally worth it. Yes you use your original dimmer switch.

I upgraded the Green '67. I got the relays from a newer F-250 over at the salvage yard. It has two relays in a nice holder with a cover over it and a bracket to bolt to the inner fender, Worked like a champ! Best part is the owner gave it to me... (I actually picked up three sets) I spliced them into my original wiring with no problems. Be sure and solder & shrink tube all of the wire splices. Also be sure to clean all of the contacts in the light circuit, including the dimmer switch connector. (it is usually the worst). I also added a ground strap from the engine to the frame and from the frame to the core support. Made all the difference in the world... No reason you can't do it this way if you take your time and do it right. For anyone who doesn't have the time, or doesn't want to take the time, buy the kit....

I do the mod on every one of my trucks. It makes a fantastic improvement. Personally, I've never bought a "kit". It's much cheaper and quicker to just grab relays and sockets and do it myself. There's threads on here detailing the whole mod if you prefer to go the do-it-yourself route.

I found a thread I started on this mod about 7 years ago. I used a relay pack out of some little Mopar goofy econobox car. Relays are very generic. Bosch make a majority of them anyway.

hey firefighter. Whats the metal plate attached to the radiator that you have those mounted on? I dont have that in my truck.

That's on my 63 truck build. It's a shroud that bolted on next to the six cylinder radiator to close up the opening (smaller radiator than V8 trucks).

I'm with you Tx Firefighter, I put mine together for less than $15. I mounted the relays on the right fender lip, near the battery. I left the original wire and sockets in place. I pulled the old plugs off the lights. New 12 ga. wire to H4 bulbs and insulated male plugs into the old OEM plug for dimmer connections.

Quick, easy, and next to disk brakes, the best thing I've done for my DD.

Here are the wiring diagrams. First is for Chevy and second is for GMC. I think VetteVet did them but I am not sure...
