New guy here, and I just want to share what I found while at the Daytona Turkey Rod Run.

Excluding the rust this is a pretty solid truck..

Even the inside looks solid..

The seller also gave me a set of rust free Suburban doors, I can't believe how rust free! I am amazed. He also threw in a complete AC set up...
front AND rear out of a Suburban (all of the pieces and parts).
The front end is not so hot looking but I have that covered.

I am going to use this one.. from my '69 truck project

Thanks LockDoc. Ha Ha Yes she did approve and for some silly reason so did my wife! I am amazed at how solid this thing is. Now i just need to sell all the '69 truck parts I have been hording for the past 2 years to fund this one!!!!

The cat isn't as important as the wife but my cat does the same thing...

Just be sure and sign up for the Premium membership if you are going to sell the parts on here. 25 bucks a year but you have a captive audience...

Thanks, I was pleasantly surprised then I took the floor mat out. the floors feel solid. There are some holes in the inner rockers and it is real lacy up by the pedals

Funny thing is I just bought a new Floor pan and toe kick panel for my '69 Chevy... now I can't use the floor pan but the kick panel and some patches I'll be golden.

Why cant you use the floor pan? ... did you buy the giant one for the whole underside of the pick up or just the fronts? Just the fronts should be the same as the truck. I bought just the fronts for pick up for my panel. My body guy had to cut em up a bunch, but that was just because they were a crappy fit no matter what you put em in =)

My plans for this truck is to paint it the same GM color on the body and do the roof white or a light GM silver and fix the rust. I really want it to look like it did when it came out of the factory.

A Florida truck needs AC...

The complete floor pan braces and all. It's an A.M.D pan.

Do it! There aren't many of these around; I am in love with the '69- '70 front ends, I have always thought the shiny grill with the word Chevrolet across the middle was the coolest look.

For what it's worth, I used a pick up floor in my cab as well. It worked out well, with a little trimming from behind where the seats would be and it also allowed me to get truck seats easily since the mounting was the same.

The doors fenders and hood have been done hanging in my shop for a few years. The body is done parked out in the FIL barn for a few years and the chassis has been done for going on a year (built by board member Livrat for me). So now all I need to do is see you guys that have been posting a bunch of panels lately to keep taking pictures of your progress to help motivate us.

So keep posting your pics RustySS ... no more jacking your thread from me =)

I don't know if anybody cares but 70 was the last year of panel trucks the reason is 71 was the first year of that ever so long over used Chevy van. That killed production of panel Trucks so if you see a panel with 72 nose grill just smile and tell the person. Nice truck ,window suburbans lived till 72

JUST KIDDING! I think it's great and posting makes me want one more and more.

I wondered why the panel disappeared....so the van took it over. I'd still rather have a panel though....vans are not attractive in my mind.
