bucket seat advice

Since i will be doing a cab swap i have thought about going with bucket seats. What should i look for to make it a painless swap. What seats fit the best

Going down the list, I would rate squarebody pickup seats first, second would be Suburban, third would be Blazer, and forth everything else. Suburban seats only need the back tabs bent up. Also you need the front inside brackets.

Easiest fit would be the Squarebody pickup bucket seats, as they are a direct bolt in. Good luck finding these, very rare option.

Next is Suburban bucket seats, the rear tabs need to be bent up to be a bolt in.

Blazer seats are the same, however the mounting base is different and would need to be swapped to pickup/Suburban tracks. I would stay away from these for a pickup swap.

And of course there are many other bucket seats out there from various other cars and trucks. This of course would require fab work and typically aren't a bolt in solution.

What year suburbans? Didn't even know squarebodies came with buckets

any year suburban that the option they had them for the duration if im not mistaken. seems like the the 3 doors in the 60s had a bucket seat option. the later 80s ones look the best. i thought about buying a set for crew cab project when it gets going and using a middle jumpseat console with them but i leaning toward a aftermarket seat now.

They are more like captain chairs than buckets really.

Anyways these are my favorite style Suburban seats, out of a 88-91 Sub. These are the seats in my C10

Yes I pulled the console from the Suburban as well. Make sure you get all brackets and even the seat belt buckles.

If your pulling buckets from a suburban, make sure you grab the inner brackets that are welded to the floor, it may take a couple of minutes to cut them out with a sawzall but it will save lots of time spent fabbing up custom brackets.

I used 89 burb in my 78 Jimmy
drilled some holes bolted right up
tilt dial to the outside
not all years have two arms
great for long drives

Doesn't seem to be to easy to find the burb seats locally.... Really looking forward to it after seeing everybody else's

Took me 6+ months of searching before someone parting out a burb popped up...I was specifically looking for gray 88-91 seats however. I did have to drive about 60 miles to get them...but worth it, no rips or sagging foam.

Just curious what were they selling for. Curious if I would be better off price was buying mounts and getting seats instead of pulling out a burb

I would expect about $100 for two nice ones,sold the 87s for that with rips ,just sold my old 2 Jimmys for $40,very rough

I put 'Burb seats in my 85 standard cab, but they don't have enough room to scoot back enough to be comfortable for me, and I'm only 6 foot 2. They hit the back of the cab. I was trying to use the burb supports but ended up cutting my old bench seat support up and welding up a mismatch of stuff to match the holes. I think if you could find a PU with buckets those supports would work much better.

The burb seats require drilling the inner rear whole and mounting the front inner perch. I'm only 5'11" and I do have the seat all the way back..very comfortable..

Here's a pic of my 86 K10 interior after completing about 95% of the interior restoration. I used 1990 Suburban bucket seats, console, seat/console brackets, Suburban seatbelts and black plastic door sill plate covers, fold-over style door pockets and I even swapped out the Silverado door panel inserts for the Suburban ones after trimming them down and using 3M spray adhesive to bond them to the pickup door panel insert backing.
