Is this a disc or drum proportioning valve?
I'm going through the brake lines on my 67 C10 and someone along the years has converted to disc in the front and it looks like they have used 73-87 spindles and converted the ball joint, etc int he process. The new brake lines were bent, kinked, and routed poorly to say the least so I'm redoing that. It looks like the correct master cylinder, I just want to make sure I also have the correct proportioning valve and I haven't had much luck figuring this out. Here is what I have.

That's not a proportioning valve -- it's a distribution block, which was used with drum/drum setups.

BTW, just noticed you're a newbie.... welcome to the board! You'll be glad you found this place, there's so much knowledge here and good folks willing to help. Maybe not me so much, I'll help when I can, but I know just enough to be dangerous!

Thanks. That's what I was thinking as access for the spring/valve in it. So I guess I'll add that to my purchasing list also!

Since you're already there, mount the new porportioning valve to the frame, helps clean things up a bit.
And welcome to the board! |
