Re: apacherado
Ugh, I like none of those things. The old 50's style body on newer Vette chassis, the Ferrari body on Pontiac Fiero chassis. Count me out.

Re: apacherado
I've tried finding out the story about this for 2 years, and haven't found anything out.
Everything has come back a dud. If they dropped the hood down a couple inches I think it would be perfect. |

This ones been circulating facebook for a while. Usually with the irritating "love it or hate it?" Label to get people worked up over a picture.

Re: apacherado
If you look at the inside headlight on the drivers side, the fuzziness at the edge of the hood near the windshield, and the shadows, you can tell it's definitely a Photoshop.

No substitute for the real deal and steel.
I've also seen kits for a 1966 nose for 88-98 Chevy's http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/4235958313.html and a Belaro http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/4210403790.html |

Hmmm…
Maybe you can already buy a truck like that if you squint real hard?

Re: apacherado
Denee, I agree. If one looks at the second photo long enough it is obvious that the fender "creases" abruptly stop at the front of the doors. The "creases" should carry through the doors also. It just does not look right.
Same goes for the 66 nose on the suburban. The pinched part of the fenders just stops at the front of the doors. By the way....4 eyes is where it's at....

Re: apacherado
I sure do appreciate that sweet compliment crossfire! I have to give a lot of credit to my wonderful husband for supporting my habits! He kind of gets on me for my spending, but he forgives me quickly enough, besides, it does not interfere with my feminine side I assure you However, I'm somewhat puzzled why women are so stereotyped into being "housewives". Maybe when I'm 75 I'll learn to nit one pearl two, ha!! lol

Re: apacherado
I found another view of it, so if it is not real, why would there be at least thee different views? Lots of photo shop work for a fake.

Re: apacherado
looks like a late model ext cab Silverado that someone did some fancy work to get the fenders, hood, grill, and front bumper from a 58-59 on to. Its a cool idea, but the proportions are just not right. looks like a chop top.
I once had a 1980 monte carlo that was modified to look like a '87 SS and I also owned a 1980 Ford truck that was modified to look like a 92-97 f350!

Re: apacherado
Pictures were taken at the Mollie Kathleen Gold mine in Cripple Creek
Colorado. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=cripp...ed=0CAoQ_AUoAg Found a reference that the owner built it, he gives the mine tours, but he did not want to talk more about it. If you zoom the google street view you can see the white truck sitting in front of the garage door. and if you look on Bing maps, you can see the finished truck sitting out back. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.asp...JlZWslMjUyMGNv

Re: apacherado
Kind of cool. I know there were some kits a few years ago that would convert your truck frontend to the 47-53 style, but the Apache is kind of neat.
I find it ironic that you have to use sheel metal from a 50 year old truck to make a new truck look good. |
