OR Trade - Tach for Bolt-in Low Hump

I have this Tachometer.
I don't know anything about it.
I want to trade it for a bolt-in lowhump floor pan.

The low hump pictured is the one I am installing in my truck.... The exact one one in my exact truck!

You can't have this hump, but....

I know where 3 more are, I will try and score one of these for you.

The weather down here is crap right now so if someone else can do it right away no problem. Otherwise I will get one as soon as weather and time permits

Could you state which year and model these come from please. Makes it easier for spotting possibilities when scrap yarding.
I imagine you require the front piece that's spotwelded, do you not? I did see on larger thrucks that the front piece was bolted in as well.

Interesting, in the exploded view they do not show the covers attached to the cab. Have to find the part numbers for the different parts from some other source.

Not a bad price but I need to find out if the tach needs the EB-9a transmitter to make it work.

Does anyone have any idea on that? I know, I have some old vintage Sun tachs that need the transmitter to work.

I'm currently doing some research on suntachs.
So far, I'm thinking mine is one that doesn't need a transmitter. Looking at the connection posts, the connection is direct to distributor.
Here is a pic of one that needs a transmitter.
Notice the connection posts.
It even states what transmitters to use.

I'm pretty convinced my tach I'm selling above doesn't need a transmitter. It hooks directly to the coil. One post to the distributor coil. One post to the ignition switch, and one to ground.

That is not a problem. I am a little strapped on cash now until after the holidays. I am sure I am not the only one.

I hope you can get the low hump you need. I will keep an eye on this and also do some research on the transmitter. It looks like your tach does not need a transmitter, just a wire up and go.

Did a little research and it looks like a tach filter will need to be installed due to the "noisyness" of the HEI. Will see if I have trading options in my two spare cabs.
I will pass until I check on those cabs.

My factory tach will not work with my HEI or electronic distributor.

HEI and other electronic distributors create a different signal or pulse then do original points style distributors. For this reason, your OEM tach that was circuited to read the latter, does not recognize and cannot read the signal it’s receiving from the newer style distributor. The fix for this situation is to purchase a tach filter or interface device. They are available through several aftermarket manufacturers. They can be found on most GM cars in junkyards that have factory tachs in them. The factory style filter looks like a condenser with a wire and connector on each end, one of which plugs onto the HEI distributor, and the other onto the tach lead wire. Hooking this filter device in series between your distributor and tach should allow your factory tach to work in harmony with your new electronic distributor.
