Crew Cab guru's

I'm the new owner of a 90 GMC R35 with a VE pumped cummins. My question to the crew cab gods is what's the differences between the c30, c35 and r35 trucks? I've searched everywhere and can't fine an answer. I want to order a 5/7 kit from western but I want to be sure that there isn't anything different with my truck vs c30/c35 trucks.

When did GM start using the Dana 80 in these trucks?

that nice truck !
as far as I know C30 - R30 and R35 should be the same, I think they went to the 35 in 88 .

Re: Crew Cab guru's

Dana 80's, if I'm correct, first showed up in 93 or 94 in the 3500HD's. They were 10 lug. Your truck "should" have a Dana 70HD

Re: Crew Cab guru's

chevy trucks are c10 c20 c30 the same years gmcs are called c15 c25 c35 they is no difference in them . gm never used the dana 80 under 1991 -1973. they were dana 70 in the dually. the dana 80 was used in the dodges with the cummins thats is proabaly what is in your truck.

Re: Crew Cab guru's

Thanks guys, good to know that the c/r 30/35 is just name changes.

I talked to the guy that put it together and he didn't touch the rear, just motor and tranny.

Now I need to figure out the gauges and make them work.

Re: Crew Cab guru's

c/k was used until 86, after that they went to the r/v designation.
