Step Bars - ?
Wife and I are thinking of getting our son a set of step bars for Christmas for his '99 Z71 Ext. Cab 4x4. Looking at round chrome tube style bars. Have looked at Westin and DeeZee, not sure which is better of if either one is better than the other. ?? Tried an O'reillys to order them and was told they "can't order them" ????? Guy at the counter said some speacial order items they can not order, best to contact Mfg. directly? Any body have some opinions or info for these. Never ordered step bars, looked at Rock Auto and could not find them listed. Did I miss them maybe?

Re: Step Bars - ?
Are the bars chrome or polished stainless steel? If chrome, any rust issues showing up, how long have you had them mounted? Bolt to the frame with brackets, no drilling? They look good on the truck. Two steps on the passenger side and one on the driver side? My son's '99 is a three door extended cab. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Step Bars - ?
Try Ebay, Amazon, or Stylin' Trucks. I have a set of Deezee's on my '02 and they didn't fit very well. Westin's are a well known brand with a good reputation, but you pay the price.
Oh, and almost all step bars these days bolt to the body mounts.

Re: Step Bars - ?
Mine are steel with a chrome finish. They've been on the truck two years in NY . There's no rust issues . No drilling. They bolt right on. Just make sure you get ext cab ones.

Re: Step Bars - ?
Thanks for the replies, have a set of stainless steel 3" bars for his truck. Always like to ask here on the board for advise on things I'm not knowledgeable about. Thanks for the feed back and have a Merry Christmas!
