Re: 1958 Chevy Apache 32
I'm not sure , maybe the custom deluxe or the cameo may have had them ,if they did I think it was just an add on option, never seen any special column from the factory ,these trucks were pretty much purely utilitarian .
Mine had them added on at some point long ago, doubt if the signal switch is factory, wires were all hacked and jacked over the years. Several places sell the universal signal switches. |

Just looked at some ads on eBay, saw some ambulances and a couple of trucks with what looks like turn signals in the columns, never really looked for them before.

They were optional on TF's. They fit into the column in place of the bell below the steering wheel. They self cancel which most of the add on's don't do. Most any of the vendors that sell TF parts sells the kit to add them.

you can always buy the Signal Flare style that clamps onto the steering column. That's what my 56 has and it was a snap to wire in.

Re: 1958 Chevy Apache 32
signalstat clamps on the column.
i believe all tf 3100 trucks had turn signals, all the tf trucks i've owned or seen over the years have always had them. they did have different versions; self canceling built into the bell under the wheel, signalstat self canceling that had a rubber wheel under the steering wheel and standard signalstat. my and most 59 3800 trucks and bigger, had the factory add on lights on the fenders but also used the standard turn signals.

Re: 1958 Chevy Apache 32
Turn signals were optional on TF's and many were probably dealer added, but I think the only ones that would self cancel were the ones that were integrated into the column. You couldn't use the add on style with the rubber tire that rode on the steering wheel because of the design of the TF steering wheel.
