235 75 15 mud tires?

So I'm picking up my '79 Scotsdale tonight from the seller and I'm super excited! More pics to come for sure.

Anyways, let's talk tires. I want this to be at least capable in the snow, so I want to put on some sort of aggressive tread out back. I've had great success with general grabber at2s, however they're not very good in the mud. And being on a farm in Maryland...there's mud. I'm looking at maybe the Firestone Destination M/T, what other tire makes should I be considering?

TIA

Had good luck with Dunlop MudRovers,BFG KM2s,both these work good in mud & snow. Stand up pretty good on gravel roads too.

I have BFG All Terrains in 235/75/15 size on my 2WD, great snow traction even without sandbags in the back. My Dad got stuck plowing sunday, I was able to yank it out with the C10.

Cooper Discoverer STT's. I ran them on my K20 before I lifted it, and they were awesome for snow and mud. Not to mention they're cheaper than BFG mud terrains. I ran them in 285/75/R16 on my truck and with regular rotation got about 50K miles out of the set, which is awesome for a my tire. I'll be running a set of 35's on my new super duty for sure.

^^ Beat me to it! I have these Coopers on my '92 K3500 (255/85-16) and they dig mud. Yeah, they like mud,but that's not what I meant. You won't find a better tire for a better price

Not a "mud tire", but the Terra Trac Radials worked well when my 79 was used as a plow truck.

Re: 235 75 15 mud tires?

My tires are actually knock off BFG's, Pegasus Advanta A/T. I got LT235/75/15 for a little over $400 for the set from my local tire wholesaler.

Best shot I have of the tires themselves:

x3 on the those Coopers. I had them on my work truck for a while and they held up very well driving on rocks all the time and I never had any problem driving through mud and the little bit of snow that we get here. Not to mention they look good too.

Re: 235 75 15 mud tires?

Anybody tried the Falken Wildpeak A/T? They're like $85 apiece on at Sears, which is a lok cheaper than some of the other A/t and M/Ts out there.

BFG All Terrains, had them on multiple trucks when I lived in Alaska and never had an issue, the cold or snow never got to them.
