Tremec in C-10, k-15?

Has anyone out there put a Tremec TKO into a 67-72 pickup? If so, can you tell me if you have a bench seat and if you are using the default shifter mount position?

Thank You,

I did it with a bench seat, and the rear shifter position with the shifter mount flipped around. Used a Hurst stick for a bench seat car.

Buddy buckets, lots of room. No issues. Actually had to tweak shifter a bit because it hit the dash in 5th

Re: Tremec in C-10, k-15?

I have one and got it from American Powertrain. They have an offset shifter that fits the rear mount and I was able to clear my bench even with the engine in the L-6 position. Check my build thread for pics.

Re: Tremec in C-10, k-15?

Adam, (bosshogg69)
In the pic can you tell me if that is in gear? How is the reach when seated? Can you sit comfortably against the back of the seat and slam through the gears? (Assuming you are 6' give or take a couple inches?) Also, how much room clearance between the dash when it is in 1st, 3rd, or 5th?

Thanks Again!

Re: Tremec in C-10, k-15?

Sounds like the rear position works out fine with modified shifter.
Dan42, I see you hit the dash in 5th. Is this a mid mount position?
70chev383, Can you provide more detail on the Mid position? Does the shifter angle back towards you?

Additional pics are welcome,

Thanks Again!
