Re: 55 Step Side UK build
Here are some pictures of the start of the build, Truck came from Georgia about ten years ago and it was in bits when I opened the container.
Decided to build with after market suspension kits, and went for a Hiedts front IFS and a TCI rear four bar link. First job was to mount the chassis on a jig so I could make sure the chassis was straight and centred. [IMG][/IMG] Next job was to sort the cab.. |

Re: 55 Step Side UK build
Here is a picture of the cab restoration, Cab was in a bad way, so decided to put a complete floor in.
It was braced and the old floor removed and then media blasted, new floor pan was mounted to the chassis and cab mounted to the new floor. A brief description about me, I have been in the automotive trade for some thirty years, mostly in classic car restoration but I have also been a Technical demonstrator for two major paint companies (DuPont and Akzo Nobel) Here is a link to my car restoration company. http://www.greenfieldcarrestoration.co.uk/ As you can see I have built and painted many Hotrods and Custom cars. I will put some more pictures of some of my work in future updates as I don't want to bombard you all with too much. The main reason I want to share with you folk is I need to do some modifications to my truck as I have a few issues and would be great full for some advice.. Here is a picture of my last Custom Car I built, paintwork fabrication and mechanical all done by me...(What a Big Head!!!!) Last edited by Downstairs Dave; 12-19-2013 at 09:49 AM. |
