Show me your 3500 hd crew cabs
Here's the 2 we have. We have had the hauler for about 8 years now, had the hodges 19 ft bed put on when we got it. Just found the 97 GMC this week plans are to make it our shop truck and match it up with the hauler. Both are 454 automatics. Going to sell the red bed and replace it with a regular flatbed.

Re: Show me your 3500 hd crew cabs
AWESOME! From all of my research I have determined that GM never built those firsthand, they were upfitters or other companys that stretched them and used factory crew cabs. I've seen several in railroad service but not with either of the beds you have. Two great trucks you have there.

Thanks. We have got the bed off of the truck and it is now for sale, the truck is heading to the paint shop first of the week. Thinking of two-toning it white and silver but not to sure just yet.

![]() Hope i'm welcomed here with out mine being a dually lol but she is a true 1 ton. Its got a 454 in it with the automatic transmission. I've did a few cheap things to it to make it look better like crudely blacking out the rims and painting the lug nuts red. I plan on getting some better rims for it though one of these days.

Re: Show me your 3500 hd crew cabs
That black truck isn't an HD, just a regular 3500
Its hard enough to find a regular 3500 hd, let alone a crew cab. I've been looking for a few months to get one for a rollback, but they are asking a fortune. |

For anyone browsing, and who might not realize, this thread refers to the 3500HD Chassis Cabs built from '92-'02 that are equipped with a solid beam style front axle, 10-lug axles (5 on the front), and a various other HD features. They should not be compared to a regular 3500 whether single or dual rear wheel. The cabs are mounted higher on the frames, hence the filler panel between grille and bumper. The frames themselves are massive, fully boxed structures, as seen in the pictures above.

Re: Show me your 3500 hd crew cabs
3500HDs should have been called 4500s. They have noting in common with a 3500. They sit on a straight rail medium duty type frame and everything else, except body is medium duty. They are the little truck on a big truck
