??? on UPS shipping
Is it usually cheaper to send 2 packages instead of one? I want to make sure I'm understanding the UPS deal for sure. Thanks Randy

UPS, Usually one is cheeper then two. Big packages go Greyhound for much less. International go cheeper via US Mail (non air).
Be careful shipping to Canada as the tariffs can be real high---need to mark packages "used truck parts" or gift, etc. |

Well I price shipping a headliner, boxed over 4 foot and another box AT linkage at 31 inches and it says $17.36 for the first and $16.45 for the 2nd. Does that mean almost $34 total, USPS was $28 total. Thanks Randy

Your right, $34 total. Depends on if you can go thru a company or not too. I get a discount at work since we have a regular pick up. If you drop it off at a UPS pick up location, it will be whatever they quote you. USPS is usually cheaper, but no tracking, and waaaayyyy slower. I only send USPS if the person is in no hurry to get the item. Otherwise I go with UPS. Just my opinion. I'm sure others have theirs too.

I'VE FOUND FED EX TO BE CONSISTANTLY ABOUT 1/3 CHEAPER THAN UPS OR USPS. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THEY'RE PICKUP POLICYS THOUGH, AS I HAVE A FED EX DEPOT WITHIN A COUPLE OF MILES OF MY HOUSE, & I'VE ALWAYS DROPPED MY PACKAGES OFF.

I bought some bumperguards from a ford dealer in florida, I told them to put them in the mail, that way they would come to my door no problem, done it many times before, but they were to lazy to take them to the post office so they sent them ups, well on a $50 item the tarrif and brokers fees were $35 go figure

UPS is the best no question...Easiet too deal with if you have lost/broken package and the tracking is free. Use UPS for the lower 48 states and you'll have no problem IMO.

I went to the UPS pick up point on Monday to mail
a couple of packages. One was four wheel cap decals and the other was a fan belt. They were both very lite. I had placed labels and sealed the boxes. I also stated what was in them on the paperwork. They took a box cutter and opened each of them. I asked the clerk if they opened every box. She stated that they did. The attitude was bad. I will go to Fed Ex in the future. BTW, Chevrolet has discontinued the 3 5/8 inch bowtie stickers for the rally wheel caps. Classic Industries had three left. I found four at a nearby chevy dealer and they mailed them to me. CIs price was around $18 each and they were $10.66 from the chevy dealer. EdB |
