my 72 c10 need help

heres my 72 chevy had this engine put in today has no power at all and floods when i floor it any ideas??

Timing, float not set correct, not full 12 volts to the HEI etc. etc. Why not take it back where you had it installed, and corrected?? Beautiful truck!! More particulars of the engine setup, and install would be helpful, if the installer can't get it fixed! Hope to see more of that truck on here, by the way, welcome to the board, and we will all try to help as needed.

The edelbrock carbs seem to be pretty picky on the fuel pressure that the pump is supplying. If the pump puts out to much pressure it will flood the engine because it pushes gas past the seat. You can try doing the gravity feed trick and see if it works correctly. If it does then you'll need a fuel pressure regulator to keep fuel pressure in the proper range. The gravity trick is to block the inlet fuel supply to the fuel pump and disconnect the fuel line going into the carb. Connect the inlet to the carb up to a fuel hose and funnel and pour gas into the funnel while maintaining it above the carb. The fuel will flow into the carb but has no pressure so it can't push fuel past the seat of the float. If the engine still floods then the float probably is incorrectly adjusted.

Off topic, but you need to throw that air filter away. Huge fire hazaed.
Every time you open the throttle, especially if the engine is not running, a little bit of fuel sprays up and into the foam (sponge) that if filtering the air. All it takes is one little tiny back fire, and it WILL go up in flames.
I had been warned as a teen and ignored it, and then I had a huge fire under my hood. I still have one to this day, but it is just to keep bugs out of a dormant engine. I showed a few board members last weekend the damage that can happen with one of those. The one I have was on an engine that back fired as it was running, even then with the air rushing in, the foam still stared to burn.
Awsome looking truck, and welcome to the board.
Look over the basics on your engine, make sure the #5 and #7 wires are not crossed (common mistake) check the timing, the fuel pressure, even the grounds. It'll probably be a little thing that has been overlooked.

Fuel pressure regulatorespecially if you're running a high performance (high pressure / high volume) fuel pump. That Edelbrock is probably running so rich it's causing pooling of the fuel in the bottom of the intake. When you floor it, the engine pulls all of that pooled fuel in and it dies from being way overly rich.
