Looking good Jeff, nice job! You didn't drip any POR-15 on the red portions of the body or get any on your hands did you?

Does POR-15 block sound/heat in ANY way?? I need to do that exact same thing to my truck...rip everything out, dynamat the interior like CRAZY, then put it all back in.

I was extremely careful. I did get a little bit on the red, but it was quickly wiped off. I do have a black dotted shirt now. That stuff in hard as a rock!

I am not sure about the sound/heat resistance. I is supposed to seal the metal and prevent corrosion. It does not have pours like regular paint, therefore it does not allow moisture to pass through it.

ROTFLMAO!! That is just wrong!

The stuff won't come off ANY body parts, your skin has to die and fall off before it will come off.

So true. It bugs me that we did not paint the floorboard nor under the dash. Now that at least he floorboard is a neutral color, it feels much more complete. I cant wait to have everything in the interior back to one piece and everything working.

SUPER STARTER KIT plus an extra pint of the paint cause the starter kit was not quite enough to do the floorboard. I also probably put it on too thick, but oh well. Here is their insruction sheet.

Basically I did this, assuming the carpet and insulation are out:
1. Masked off any existing paint that I did not want to get eaten off.
2. Got all the goo off and wire brushed some rust spots.
3. Scuffed the shine off.
4. Then I brushed on the Marine Clean and let it sit till it hazed over (I think). More precise instructions are on back of can.
5. Rinsed the Marine Clean off with garden hose and thoroughly dried.
6. Then I brushed on the Metal Ready. More precise instructions are on back of can.
7. Rinsed the Metal Ready off with garden hose and thoroughly dried.
8. Applied first coat of POR-15, then I let it almost dry.
9. Applied second coat.

The instructions that come with the kit a relatively good. Also, read the back of each can.

Looks good! I'm thinking of changing the interior colors of my red truck from charcoal/black to tan. The more I see yours, the more I want to do it.

bagged81, quick ? about your insulation. Is that the kind that has the foil looking stuff on the other side? If so, I installed the same stuff in my hot rod, but I was told to put the shiny side up. Did your's come w/instructions? Because mine did not. I went off what a friend did on his car. Shiny side up or down, not sure if it matters , I was just wondering.

Looks fantastic Jeff. What seats you going back with?

The foil side is supposed to go down on the insulation.

Yes you did! Was an Pewter FRC Vette parked nexted to it with TAGURIT Alabama plates in your pic? Everytime I see that pic I think of that now... And how we missed each other.

The interior is alot better since that pic was taken. It looked like you threw 2 sex deprived squirrels in there and locked the door....

Yea, my foil is on the underside. I was always under the impression the the foil goes towards the heat. The shiny stuff you see on mine is the foil tape. I just used it to make the seams look better and to put a final seal on the insulation.

Yep, Capt tells the truth. It was sitting out there all alone. I just slapped the seat and driver side belt in it just to take it up there. I did not even have the cluster in it. Thanks for the compliment.

I am just going to put the bench back in it for now. I would like to eventually put some leather Caddy seats in it. We'll see.

Interesting way to describe it, but it works. :p

Hopefully the upolstry dude ordered my headliner Friday then I can start installing some stuff. I am getting the column repainted by a professional so it should look a whole lot better. Thanks for the compliments fellas!
