gm steering column wire harness cover

I am using a 80's standard gm steering column in my 58 pu. Does anyone make something to cover the ignition switch and wire harness ? Looks really ugly.

Re: gm steering column wire harness cover

You would think after all these years somebody would have made a fiberglass mold considering most people use the same column?

I'm not sure but I think Rod Doors, made a column cover in plastic, like their door panels, but I'm not sure if their still in business...Jim

Re: gm steering column wire harness cover

I just checked their site. They did make a mold for Gm columns. Looks like they are out of Business.

Re: gm steering column wire harness cover

I modified a piece of 4" thin wall pvc pipe and upolstered it. I made a piece to cover the exposed part above the dash and below the tilt mech. The details in my thread start here:

You can go to a carpet store and get a carpet tube to start with, mock it up to fit and cover with whatever.

Speedway one looks pretty good. Has anyone ever seen one installed? Looks like you have to remove the stock gm cover?
