vin tag location
can someone please tell me where I would find the vin tag on a 1984 chevy truck would it be on the corner of the dash below the windshield or a sticker inside the glove box door ?

Both.
Vin plate is on the dash. Vin # will be on the SPID sticker in the glovebox. Why??

Since like 67 or 68 its a law to have a vin on the drivers side of the dash.

got a truck yesterday and guy said the only vin was in the glove box and dash pad is wrapped in custom fabric will have to investagate further thanks for the help guys.

No since 67 or 68 think 78 was in the door jamb 79 was beginning of dash

Maybe its different for cars and trucks.Look in to your local laws see if it says you have to have a vin on the dash or not.

all 81+ dashes should have a notch to show the VIN. 73-78 dashes would cover it because they have it on the door jamb. i have a 73-78 on my 79-80 cab. can't see the VIN at all
