transmission question

As far as I know this is a 350 turbo. came out of my 71 4x4 sb. I never seen the markings 7r on the housing before. Does anybody know what this might mean? Thanks in advance for any input on the subject.

Re: transmission question

I had an idea this was a weird question. But I thought someone might have some thoughts about it.

Re: transmission question

I can't tell you what that means, but I did stumble on something that might help. See if this helps...

You may have to stand the trans on end to see the pan properly, but this should help you I.d. it from the pan.
