Info for Travel Time conversions?
Earlier in the week I brought home a 1994 Chevy regular cab, stepside and its supposed to be a Travel Time conversion but I'm not finding any info on the trucks. From what I've seen, it was done more on the vans? Should I have some sort of special RPO for it? The Travel Time sticker is still on the tailgate, and there's a script of Travel Time and a parrot on the horn button. And it does have the overhead console with the lighting in the middle of the interior's roof.
If what I was told was true, the truck has 72k original miles that was bought brand new by the grandparent of who I bought it from. He ordered it himself and requested a vortec v6 installed instead of the regular 4.3L. Which is another question, did vortec 4.3's come out in '96 or before? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

Re: Info for Travel Time conversions?
Vortec 4.3 was out at least in 94 (had one in my old GMC truck) possibly 93.

Can you take a pic of the engine bay? That will help us determine what engine you have.

Re: Info for Travel Time conversions?
Every single 4.3L is a vortec, every since they were made in the 80's.
![]() 1993-1995 4.3L's came standard with CPI "Vortec" heads, not the same CSFI "Vortec" heads used in 1996+
