SC NOS Dealer issued USA-1 tags

[PT'S 70 CST]

This is a NOS USA-1 front tag. This is not your cheap newer $10.00 tag that you can go run out and buy. This is a late 70's to early 80's tag that came with the wax paper as seen in the pic. It has the raised letters and you can see the imprint of the USA-1 in the paper. This is the real deal. These are getting very hard to come by. I will be out of town from Mon-Wed. and can get them shipped on Thurs. or Fri. $47.50 shipped each.

Curious, are they steel, ie. as in magnetic or aluminum?

These are aluminum which started in the late 70's. I have a NOS steel one which run from the 60's- early 70's but they bring a good bit more and are very very hard to come by. Here is a history lesson on GM and USA-1 tags. Most people never knew that there were this many out there and some are very rare and very expensive.

PT, thanks for the history lesson. Never knew there were so many differant varieties of the USA-1 tag.

I have an aluminum USA-1 plate I picked up at a swap meet last April at the Tex. Motor Speedway (Pate-Texas Swapmeet). Also has the smaller or shorter slots. Thought it was a re-pop but am now thinking it is an original GM from the later 70's. Put it on my '71 4x4 and am using a acrylic cover on it to keep it nice.
