Need help ASAP
The guy putting my factory bench seats n console is having an issue with the new bucket seat seat belts. He said the location of the bench seat will not work for the bucket seat belt that goes between console n seat. Can anyone help where or how to install this? He can't finish until I can answer this

Re: Need help ASAP
If you have a center belt one side bolts to each of the same holes along with the buckle belts.

Re: Need help ASAP
Truck is a 71 swb 2wd. Going from bench to bucket seats. I'm not with the truck so I don't have pics. The guy I stalling the bucket seats says the bucket seat belt won't work in the location the bench seat belt is. Does it go in a different location or to the seat bracket. I'm not sure since the truck came with a bench seat. Hope this makes since.

Re: Need help ASAP
Oh that makes it different. It read like you were going the other way. My truck is bench. The problem he has is that the bench seat belts just lay on the seat. If you just installed them that way they would just lay on the floor.

Re: Need help ASAP
I went from bench to buckets and used the same belts and mounting location.

Re: Need help ASAP
I bought the seat belts for bucket seats which has the plastic sleeve that keeps the seat belt straight up that goes between the console and the seat. The issue is the seat belt is 4"-6" short. You can't see the seat belt. Is there an extender that would bolt to the floor and then the seat belt to that? I hope all this makes since.

Re: Need help ASAP
you don't need steel seat belt extenders any real upholstery shop this should be a NON ISSUE use the factory mounts .they should have the simple ability to correct any problems , IE : extend the belt material ?

Re: Need help ASAP
Most upholstery shops wont modify seat belts due to "liability" around here. I have asked several places over the last few years and that was the answer I always got. Maybe he will have better luck.

Re: Need help ASAP
You have the wrong seat belts if they are that short. Did you buy them from a vendor that was advertising as for these trucks?

Re: Need help ASAP
I bought them from Morris Seatbelts. They said they were for this truck. I will call them tomorrow and see what they say.

Re: Need help ASAP
71 he is using a set of aftermarket belts with retracted like a late model gm, If had to guess they are three point correct? The buckle / receiver is problem, it is too short. You may try to locate some extenders as mentioned earlier or locate a set of factory belts until you can get the extenders made or located. Even with factory buckets the end you are having problems with will continue to be a problem, the factory console will be in the way. Hopefully Morris seat belts will have the extension you need.
