usually look at the 67-72 and 73-87 areas

I now have a 65 c10 b/w l/b Fleetside pickup.

planning on dropping it. Ether airbag or static. Don't think I really want to cut or raising the bed.

front disc brakes, is a must..anyone have the cpp modular set up? pro's/cons? Or other ways to have disc.

Maybe 5 lug switch later

I am leavening the body original.

How to find out what engine I have?

It's a 4 speed, granny first gear. Does anyone know the name for this kind of tranny.

Well, let me be the first to welcome you. I am far from the most knowledgeable on this board, but will try to answer some of your questions.
First off, the best place to get information is on the FAQs page, there is a TON of information there on every subject of these trucks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=559678
As far as the CPP spindles, a lot of guys have them but I have no experience with them, so will leave that for someone to answer who does have experience. Relatively easy other way to get disc brakes up front is to swap out the entire front end with any 73-87 1/2 ton donor, to include all steering components, spindles, and A arms. More information on your engine will help the experts help you determine what engine you have. Is it a 6 cylinder or an eight cylinder?
Your transmission is more than likely a Muncie SM420. It was used for many years on these trucks. Bulletproof, but not super highway friendly for much over 60 miles an hour.
This is just a start, there's lots of research you can do on the FAQ page, and others will chime in.
And the number one rule of the board, pics, lots and lots of pics. You won't get away with just that one tiny pic you posted, haha.

As earl84 said, there is all the info you need here on the forum. There are many many threads to be found in the '60-'66 FAQ index. The '73-'87 trucks and Suburbans are good donors for the front disc brakes and power steering. But that will not get you dropped spindles unless you find a '73-'87 that happens to have them.

Sorry its a V8, I was told 283 or 327. Looking to find a way to figure out witch one. Thanks for the transmission info.

I'm not skilled in dropping and disc brakes...but your tranny is probably an SM420 truck transmission....Basically it is the same transmission as a 3 on the tree...but has a granny first gear added.
