Headlight Upgrade
Well I decided to upgrade the headlights in my 57, what I got is the custom headlights part # 36-0281 out of the LMC catalog and also got a heavy duty headlight harness part # 36-3580. The first thing the directions say is not to extend any of the wiring in the harness but it looks like the wires are too short to reach where they have to go. Also I haven't figured out where to tie in this new harness to my headlight switch so I can turn them on and off.
Anyone here ever use this harness before from LMC ? Thanks Gene |

Re: Headlight Upgrade
If you are running Halogens that use an H-4 or similar bulb I'd seriously suggest installing relays and connecting that harness to the relays and the wires from the dimmer switch to the relays. That saves a lot of switch problems. You can mount the relays right on the core support next to or in the same area the original regulator was in and then can place the relays so your harness reaches. The original wires should handle the load to the relays without an issue as it takes very little amperage to trigger the relays.

Re: Headlight Upgrade
Cool, that makes things a lot simpler. I'd just figure out how to wire between the dimmer switch and the relays and call it good.
