The tab on the backside of the flat metal piece that surrounds the two tubes that exit the top, has a small piece broken off of it.

Can I see a close up picture of the broken peace, and
would the broken part cause it not to work right?

No the small piece of the top metal that has broken off will not affect functionality at all.

I will post a closeup picture of the broken piece.

In the first picture look closely under the copper tubing on the right, that is where the broken piece is. It should extend slightly to the left and look more like what you see underneath the tube on the left.

There are plenty of other screws on the top holding this thing together.
