Can anyone tell me what the quietest flow master with good back pressure is I can get? I like flow master until you get on t and then u can't hear inside the cab. I used to have 40 series and had to change them. I have magna flow but they aren't performing well at all.

I have the 50 Series Delta Flow, 2 1/4" dual exhaust w/ H-pipe behind a LJ 327.
Very happy with sound & performance.

Hi 71SWB, a brand of muffler that you don't hear of much is the brand "corsa". They take the sound waves and turn it against itself. It is a straight through design so basically no resistance. I've never seen a post on opinions of sound quality, etc. I run gm factory stainless stock mufflers being fed by a 5.3 ls through shorty headers and no drone, pretty quiet until i get on it and then it sings. I like it because i feel it's the best of both worlds for this kinda old man. Good luck Brian F.

I say flowmaster 50 if you want it alittle more quiet but sounds good when you get on it . Still have good back pressure.

I run the Delta 50's on my 72' Blazer. They are great, relatively quiet under normal driving and have a nice sound when you open her up.

What exactly do you mean when you say your Magnaflows aren't performing well?

The baffled design of the Flowmaster will make any of them drone inside the cab. Some not quite as much as others, though. The 70 series is probably the quietest of all Flowmasters.

The have been on for less than 200 miles and there is no back pressure. They also sound terrible.

I have flowmaster 50's I like them a lot better then the 40's

I know theyre not Flowmasters, but turbo's have a really nice sound to them. I have turbo's on my chevy, and my 350 is built for torque and off-roading, and it performs great with those mufflers. When they break in, theyre a little louder, but you can hear inside the cab, and they dont scare off deer when youre hunting. but if you step on it, you get a nice bark out of them. Thats my opinion, but i also plan on going to flowmasters some day soon. But turbo's are really good mufflers, especially if youre on a budget. and they last for a long time. Mine have been on my truck for about 8-12 years and they sound great, no holes, or rotting out spots yet. if i remember right, i think mine are about 20-24 inches long.

I don't understand this either unless there are undiscovered leaks in his system. This is a full throttle burnout in my 67 stepside. It's running magnaflow 2.5 in inlet and outlet offset 14 in mufflers.

I run the Flow Master 70 series on my Suburban, and they are mellow but have a nice sound.

I had same issue with mufflers being to loud inside cab.I originally had headman headers with 3" collector,18" of 3" pipe feeding 3"super 40 flow masters,then direct 3" turn downs. Mufflers were directly under cab.you couldn't hear yourself think and could set off car alarms on the other side of the street.(side note my g/f at the time lived only a block from me, she told me that she could hear if I went home after seeing her or kept driving into town to meet up with the guys. Lol) I had to make a change so I relocated them further back under the bed and had turnouts directed in front of tires. Still pretty loud but quieter in cab. Try also putting down sound deadening material like dynamat on floor pan and behind gas tank, and behind door panels.

How is your exhaust set up? Pipe size? x or h pipe? full tail pipes or dumped?
