Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

I'm getting ready to put an electric fan setup on my 72 GMC. Does anyone know where I can get an aluminium Frame to fit a 16" fan or 2 10". I have a Gm 4 row Radiator. I've seen some really nice setups. Can I buy this somewhere. I did find a couple on ebay but non my size radiator. Does anyone build these? Thanks again for any help!

Do you know if he would build another one for a 4 core radiator? Thanks Lyn

Thumbs up Re: Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

Ya might check with Wes at Classic Heartbeat.Com . He's a vendor on this forum, and IIRC, he sells fan shrouds for electric fans?

Your stock fan shroud and a 18" (?) electric fan from a jeep = awesome. Some say it's too loud. If you have super quiet exhaust...maybe. I run this set up with a thermostat switch. Works great.

Do you have any pics of your setup. What year Jeep fan did you use if you don't mind me asking? I've got a brand new fan shroud I bought from LMC that I haven't ever mounted up. Could you tell me which thermostat switch you went with. Thanks alot.

Re: Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

Any good radiator shop can make you a custom shroud if you are on a time restraint. Most have fans for just about any combination. Just make sure your electric fans are the slim design as space can be tight. In my application I just took the 4 core rad to him after measuring my available space. Good to support your local economy too many of the Mom n Pop shops no longer are around.

Re: Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

I run 2 -14" fans , on a steel shelf, with Painless controls. The mix kept my 383 cool, as well it will work with the 5.3? Longhorn

Re: Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

I ran junkyard fans off of a 93 Maxima. I only had to trim the shroud slightly so that the fans would sit down right between the radiator tanks. I just drilled and tapped the top and bottom steel support for the radiator core and used 5/16's bolt to attach the fans using the tabs made to the fans.Fit real good worked great and was free except the two relays. They were two speed fans but I just wired them to the high speed only. With a 195 thermostat, stock 4 core brass radiator, stock water pump my alum headed 10.5-1 compression 355 stayed at 200 in traffic in July.

Re: Need Help Installing Electric Radiator Fan

Why do you want an electric fan. Get a 7 blade fan with a shroud and you will be fine.
