6.0/trans/case purchase ???

I have been wanting to do an LS swap or an entirely new build for a while now and have come across a 2002 6.0 with a 4l80e and transfercase with 120,000 miles on it. The guys says he has everything from the radiator to the fuel tank and lines. He is asking $2200 for it. Does that sound resonable?

What questions should I ask?
What should I look at if I go and look at the motor/trans and case? Anything specific to look out for.

Probably want to make sure it will turnover by hand?

I have a bunch more questions if I would purchase this combo but lets start here first

Wink Re: 6.0/trans/case purchase ???

I got my 6.0 trans combo with 4l80e trans, computer had been reflashed for the stand alone harness. I got the fuel pump, motor mounts, down pipes with O2 senors and only paid $2200.00.

Check and make sure it turns freely and make sure all the senors and connections are with it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: 6.0/trans/case purchase ???

I would hit him around 1800, 120k miles is a bit ( Not too much for an LS though) but that is where I would start.

The most expensive thing on this swap is the small stuff, so if he does have all that you said...it is much better for you.

fwiw, I'd have gladly paid that amount if I could verify compression and pull apart the filter.

I don't know any exact numbers, but if they are within 10% of each other I call it a good motor.

For instance, the 5.3 I picked up puffed between 185 and 190, without letting the needle build.

I'm sure these other fellas could tell you more about what a stock 6.0 oughta have. I am new to these LSx motors.
