AZ Freshly Powdercoated Glide Out Spare Tire Carrier - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This is a hard to come by glide out spare tire carrier for the `1973-87 Chevy and GMC trucks. It has been completely cleaned, sandblasted and powder coated satin black. Powder coating creates a much harder and durable finish than the original paint. This looks really great! No rust issues at all. This includes the new hardware pictured. You will need one of the long bolts that mounts the assembly on the left(driver's side of the truck) These really make it convenient when you have to change your tire as you just pull the handle and the spare slides out from under the truck. These were a expensive option when new so not many were sold comparatively to the other styles. This is the later tubular style. I have priced this higher than the others I sell as I went through the trouble and expense to have this refinished. Price is $350 not including shipping.

Wow very nice. Any idea about fitment on a truck with a frame hitch? I can only squeeze a small spare under my truck with the hitch. Curious if this would even fit and if it would gain me any spare tire size.

Thanks! I am not sure on fitment with a frame hitch. I do have one of these that had a curve put in it for a larger tire. The only piece that was curved was the piece with the handle.

Hey Jeff, apparently stepsides have a different style of tire hangers. Do you have any info on that?

Anyone have a picture of exactly where this bolts to the frame, and how/where the tire swings out? That would give me the best idea of fitment. Thanks,

I don't still have that particular one. I did just pick up an even nicer one from the powder coaters today. Before it was powder coated it even still had most of it's original paint. I will send you a PM with my email address
