Special GMC Paint code help? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've looked at all the inline color charts and anything else I can think of can't get a clue as to what the paint code spells out- 1001MC. The truck looks to be light blue, but is this a different color- or type of finish?

That is a common designation for custom paint, that means it was ordered with a color that was not standard for that year. Doesn't have anything to do with color per se. You might want to look up GM auto paint colors that were available that year or previous to see if you can find a match. You could also see if your local paint supplier can shoot it with a spectrum gun to see what it matches.
We have a 70 GMC that was painted Chevelle Black Cherry with a designation 1000FC.
