Parking/Emergency Brake
How do I tighten the Parking/Emergency Brake? Mine doesn't seem to be holding like it should. Sometimes it will hold, while other times it will start to roll.

Hey Jeff,
Nice schematic! That is a good way to illustrate it. Jim |

Make sure your rear brakes are adjusted properly before adjusting the cable tension. Most times, snugging up the rear brakes to where they should be makes the park brake hold like new again.

And as a side note, if you have to adjust your brakes, you either don't back up enough, or you need to address the adjusters and make them work properly.

Just carry a couple of bricks around and chock the wheels when necessary! J/K

Actually, I DO carry a couple of bricks to put behind the wheels as a safety precaution, because it has tried to roll out of my driveway. Plus my boys sometime get into the truck and knock it out of gear!
