By how much did you cup them? How does it ride in the front? Are your LCA's any lower to the ground? Pics?

Thought so. I'm trying to get that low, but without bags.

8"? my a arms and exhaust hit the ground on a 28" tire.. so what ever that works out to from stock...
looks close to yours.. next up would be a pancake and a z.. for a another 3 inches.

Re: built not bought? how low have you gotten without buying any dropmember kit?
I was told by vendor that I couldn't use cupped lower control arms with dropped spindles. I want that front drop to go with this rear drop. I had to borrow your image mixer mike for information purposes.

I think you may have scrub line issues if you plan on running 15" wheels. That maybe why they told you that.

Re: built not bought? how low have you gotten without buying any dropmember kit?
mixermike - Would there be any scrub line issues if someone were to run 33'' tall tires in the rear and 29'' tall tires in the front all on 15'' rims?
I understand that by cupping the lca's not only does it lower the truck more, but it also gives the bags a place to sit and with smaller rims by dropping the bottom of the lca down, it's closer to the ground. But if someone is running 20'' rims with low-pro tires, the overall height is less than a 29'' tall tire on a 15'' rim, so therefor I don't think there'd be any issues. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Re: built not bought? how low have you gotten without buying any dropmember kit?
Scrubline issues up front are a concern if you would have a flat.
A 15" wheel is going to drop the chassis "closer to the ground", than a 20" diameter wheel would. The 15" wheel would place that "cupped" section (hanging out of the bottom of your a-arm) in direct contact with the ground. Same thing with DJM "drop pocket" designed tubular a-arms. (that's why you don't combine them with drop spindles)

lolife99 - That makes sense now that the scrub line is just in case of a flat.

Re: built not bought? how low have you gotten without buying any dropmember kit?
I think a pancaked crossmember with PB forward arms and dropped spindles is a nice setup but it still doesn't get you rack and pinion steering. I would go that route.

Re: built not bought? how low have you gotten without buying any dropmember kit?
I know there is a lot to read but it is worth it. I did a 2 inch notch and Bill Turner lower arms, cut the lower crossmember off to make it level with the arms..... The lower arms are not needed if you do a 2" crossmember drop. My crossmember is 2" off the ground when my frame rails are on the ground.
