LMC does have a great catalog to look at and see what parts are available .

Re: New lmc commercial

I wonder if the two actors even have a clue about mechanics. I wonder because in the shot where someone is tightening the ac compressor bracket, anyone with a little aptitude knows to grab the wrench back away feom the head for leverage!

Still a cool commercial, I guess. We have to take what we can!

Re: New lmc commercial

On a related note, i got an LMC catalog in the mail this weekend. There is a photo (I think it is these same two guys) sitting on the rear bumper (?) of the truck. My wife saw it at the same time and commented that it looked awkward that the were sitting on the bumper instead of the TAILGATE. I laughed and said that it probably had one of LMC's famous chinese repro tailgates that would bend if you actually SAT on it!

Re: New lmc commercial

I think we took it wrong... They make mags for all make and model trucks and the fact they put a 72 chev shorty is pretty cool.

Re: New lmc commercial

BTW, take a look at post #162 here. That is what a REAL OEM tailgate can handle. We are talking close to 600 lbs. fellas!

(Sorry but i cant post photos from my phone)

I have used their catalog a lot to see how things are assembled.

I forgot to look and see if they ever fixed the layout for the horn button parts. For years the sequence of parts has been wrong!

So yeah, a lot of LMC stuff is crap, some of it's ok. Where else besides Brother's are you guys getting parts from that are better than LMC? What are the opinions of Classic Industries? Any others?

Re: New lmc commercial

If you want the best possible parts then go with GMCPaul or Classicheartbeat (Wes). Any of the big name companies will be a crap shoot.

I actually grip wrenches and ratchets like that a lot to keep from snapping bolts off. Stupid gorilla strength.......LOL

I've had decent luck with Classic Industries, but I hate their website. Classic Parts has worked out well for me. I really like Early Classic Enterprises, Brothers, and GMCPaul.

Tighten it up 'till it breaks and back it off a quarter turn.

That was always my dad's advice. Probably why I was only allowed to use a stubby 1/4" ratchet when i was a teenager working on ATV's.
