Nice radio,
Just kidding! I put the Old Air unit in my 69 C20 that I got from GMC Paul. My truck was originally A/C equipped but I think the install would be easier on a none A/C cab. The Old Air unit would use your control panel for controlling their unit. Slight modification is required to the control panel. Leave the radio out so you won't have to take it out when doing the installation. You'll have to remove the front bumper and grill to install the condenser and drier. I hope your alternator is on the drivers side. It's best if the A/C compressor mounts on the passenger side. The kit comes with the compressor, compressor mounting bracket, condenser, drier, hoses, duct hoses, glove box liner, two firewall plates one for engine compartment and one for the inside of the cab, the unit, all required wiring, some other pieces and parts, and some instructions. You'll have to cut openings in the dash if you want to use the factory in dash locations or I believe you can get an underdash unit from the same people. There's nothing like 40 degree air on a hot day.

Yea, the radio is the least of my worries right now. I live in Tx, so the A/C is the first thing on my list. Thanks for the info on the A/C

No problem craigg1,
I got mine from GMC Paul as a special for around $905 delivered. He may still be running the special.

$895 is a very good deal IMO. I paid $950 for a Vintage Air system from a guy I knew and I thought that was a heck of a deal.

I can't compare Vintage Air with Old Air, I have the V/A unit, paid $950 and LOVE it. I figure you can't go wrong with either of these units.
Where in Tx. are you? V.A is made in San Antonio and they have a GREAT customer service dept.
Good luck
Mike

Hey, glad to see you finally made it to the board...

Sooner or (more likely) later, I'll have the money for that setup...

craigg1,
That is a good deal on an Old Air unit from GMC Paul
Old Air is located in Ft. Worth, TX

Aftermarket is the way to go
Both Vintage A/C and Old Air make excellent products. This is one upgrade that will increase the value of you ride

craigg1 update your profile as to your location to help with future requests.

Have fun
