Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
I know there is a thread on here somewhere because I ran across it awhile back. My left header has a hole in it, so I need to replace the headers or install the stock manifolds. I'm pretty sure I want to go with the stock manifolds. Would someone please help me out? Thanks.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
New manifolds are available through local auto parts stores. Or check the forum classifieds for someone parting one.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
I bought a set from Rockauto a while back. They killed my local parts store. Bottom line, 80 bucks cheaper than buying them locally for Dorman brand manifolds.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
If your exhaust isn't set up for the manifolds that should have come with the truck and you will be needing exhaust work anyway, look into the 2.5 inch outlet corvette rams horn manifolds. They flow much better than what came stock on these trucks and would be a very worthwhile upgrade.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
Thanks for the input, guys. My dooly is an 83 1 ton, 454, 4-speed, 4x4. I really think it's going to be a toss-up as to which way I go on the truck.
Bob, let me know if you run across them. Kevin, I'll check out Rockauto. Thanks again, guys! Veryl |

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
The manifolds I spoke above were for my 454 dually. These are the Rockauto sourced Dorman brand manifolds. They're actually thicker than the original GM ones were.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust manifolds
They just had to cast that china on there didn't they. It looks like it should grind off easy enough.

On the bright side though, look at the flange there by the word China and compare how much thicker it is than the GM manifold.

Thanks, Kevin for the pics. I checked Rockauto and I'm pretty impressed with the cost.
