Need feedback

Guys, I could use some advice. Its a '70 LWB and asking price is $3200. I haven't seen it yet but its been available for some time. Owner states its a solid running truck with usual rust (have to check all this out.) Please take a look at the SPID and let me know your opinion.

Re: Need feedback

It's full retail for an unrestored log bed truck ,it looks solid from the pictures . But as with anything else it's your money and will you be happy spending it on what you see ? I'd offer $1,500.00 and meet somewhere in the middle . everyone has opinions but yours is the only one that counts the rest of us don't have a dog in the hunt ! Unless of course you want to sell shares and we all can cut it fit it trim it throw a 572 and 6 speed in it with bags and 24's and then sell it for $100,000 and split the profit !

Also I see your tag line and I'd like a 29 year old redhead , but I really don't want to have to sell my house to get one !

Re: Need feedback

Your tag line says exactly what you need to do.

I personally don't believe the SPID is nearly as significant as the current condition of the truck.

Grumpy....speak for yourself.!!

I agree, I think 3800 is high for a unrestored vehicle. It needs something like a new engine or drive train, or documentation that it was owned by Elvis. Dont insult the guy with a super low offer, just talk to the owner and see if he is willing to negotiate.

Pesonally, judging by the pictures I would say its a 2500 to 3000 dollar truck.

Uhmmm , The op said $3,200. and I was speaking for myself ! and I didn't say anything to you so ........... don't let your imagination runaway .and an offer of $1,500. is realistic .your buying a truck not a friend insult him and bring him to reality of what the truck is worth ! your not making him sell it your helping him out by buying it !

Ooops... that is what happens when I dont use my glasses.

I would consider a clean title to be an important item also.

Insulting people ends a good business deal fast.

Re: Need feedback

It's not a good deal if you over pay just to keep from bringing reality to a seller . offer way less and let him tell you why it needs to be more , it's just a basic driver ,maybe the seller knows something special about it but don't just assume it's worth what their asking because thats what they posted it at ! Did you pay asking price for your home ? Nobody does !

Re: Need feedback

I had someone wanting to buy my '72 he lowballed me bad enough to get run off of my property. I drove it into my garage and left him and his know it all buddy standing out in the street. My issue was that I had it priced to sell, not bicker. I was up front about my stance before I even offered to show it to them. I did not make any friends that day either but on the flip side that was not my goal either. Around here and from what I can see I'd say the guy is close on his asking price.

Re: Need feedback

Thats why it's always hard to buy from a seller who is in love with their ride , Don't take it the wrong way but as a buyer you need to get the best price you can just as a seller wants the highest money he can find , the buyer always has control because he carries the money ! The seller can always say NO . But in the end if he really needs the cash it's going to get sold , prices change daily as do needs for the cash these and any other truck bring . don't take it personal it's only business !and nobody cares if you drove it to the prom !

Re: Need feedback

Guys, this is all sound advice and what I was looking for. After I check the basics, I'll offer $2k and work from there but not over $2600. Can't go wrong for a decent driver at that price. My stepper needs some company! Thanks for the reality check.
